John Beversluis' "C. S. Lewis and the Search for Rational Religion": Hub Posting

We will close our series on John Beversluis’ CSRR today with a hub posting. It has been my determination that 5 posts (including a hub post) should be the limit for any Reflective Review, and while Beversluis commits many more errors in his fifth chapter of CSRR, I believe there is no need to belabor the point. He is clearly not to be reckoned as a reliable source. To whatever extent Beversluis has ably shown that Lewis’ popularized case suffers from inadequacies, he has nevertheless failed as a critic of more rigorous forms of Lewis’ arguments.

I will be sending my copy of CSRR to ministry associate Nick Peters to critique other chapters, and those may appear later as special essays.

Here are the links to the four prior essays in the series:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Our next Reflective Review will start Friday, and the subject will be Brian McLaren’s The Secret Message of Jesus. Stay tuned!
